We write the words
businesses actually need.
Kirk Copywriting started as a one-person operation in a café in Cascais. Today we're a small, deliberate team — and the café visits are still non-negotiable.
We don't pitch ourselves as a full-service agency. We write copy. We do it carefully. We care about results in a way that makes some clients nervous at first, then grateful later.
How it started
Natacha Reina da Costa e Ruffer spent eight years writing for brands across Portugal, Brazil and the UK before deciding she'd rather work with three clients at a time than sixty. Kirk was born out of that decision — and the conviction that good copy takes longer than most briefs allow for.
The name comes from a family story she tells better in person. What matters is what it represents: something personal, something rooted, and something that doesn't try to be everything to everyone.
We've grown slowly on purpose. Every writer we've brought in comes from a background in editorial or content strategy, not performance marketing. That shapes the work in ways you notice immediately.
What we believe about this work
Clarity above cleverness
A line that makes someone nod is worth more than one that makes them pause. We write to communicate, not to impress.
Research before writing
We interview customers, audit competitors, and read your reviews before we write your first headline. Copy that connects is copy that starts with listening.
Measurable outcomes
Good copy does something specific. We agree on what that is before we start, and we measure whether we got there.
Sustainable working relationships
We prefer long-term clients to one-off projects. We get better at writing for you the more we understand your business.
The people behind the work
Small enough that you'll know who you're working with. Experienced enough to get it right the first time.
Natacha Reina da Costa e Ruffer
Natacha spent eight years in London agencies before setting up Kirk in Estoril. She writes long-form sales copy, brand strategy, and messaging frameworks — and occasionally teaches copywriting intensives.
Tomás Vidal
Tomás joined from a Lisbon performance marketing team. He handles email sequences, A/B testing, and anything related to converting readers into buyers.
Sofía Arrieta
Sofía builds the editorial plans that give our clients a consistent content presence. She came to Kirk via the publishing world, which means she thinks in structure before she thinks in words.
Our approach in plain terms
We start with a brief. Not a template — an actual conversation about what you're trying to do and who you're trying to reach. From there we research, write, revise, and deliver work that's ready to use. We don't hand back first drafts expecting you to do the rest.
Most of our clients come back for a second project within six months. A few of them have been working with us since the beginning. We think that says something.

We take on a limited number of new clients each quarter. If the timing works, let's talk.
