Refund Policy
Our approach to refunds
We want every client to feel confident going into a project with us. This policy sets out clearly what happens if something doesn't go to plan — whether that's a cancellation request before work starts, a dispute mid-project, or a case where you feel the final work hasn't met the agreed brief.
1. Before work begins
If you cancel your order before the project kick-off call has taken place and before any research or writing has started, you are entitled to a full refund of the amount paid. To request a cancellation, email hello@kirkcopywriting.com with your order reference.
Refunds in this case are processed within 5–10 business days via the original payment method.
2. After kick-off, before first draft
If you cancel after the kick-off call and brief stage but before delivery of the first draft, a partial refund may apply. We will deduct a fee reflecting the time spent on discovery, research, and strategy. This fee is typically 25–40% of the total project value, assessed on a per-project basis.
We will send you a written breakdown of hours spent before deducting any amount.
3. After first draft delivery
Once a first draft has been delivered, the project is considered substantially in progress. No refund is available after this point, except in cases where:
- The delivered work materially fails to address the agreed brief despite revision attempts; or
- Kirk Copywriting is unable to complete the project for reasons within our control.
In either case, we will first attempt to remedy the issue through an additional revision round. If the matter remains unresolved, we may offer a partial refund or credit toward a future project at our discretion.
4. Revision disputes
If you believe the work does not meet the brief, please raise this in writing at the revision stage — not after accepting the final delivery. We take brief compliance seriously and will address genuine gaps. We cannot process refund requests based on a change of direction, preference, or strategy that was not part of the original agreed brief.
5. Digital goods and EU consumer law
In accordance with EU Directive 2011/83/EU, you acknowledge that the services provided by Kirk Copywriting begin upon confirmed payment and explicit consent. By agreeing to our Terms of Service at checkout, you waive the 14-day right of withdrawal that would otherwise apply to distance contracts, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
This does not affect any statutory rights you hold as a consumer in your country of residence that cannot be waived by contract.
